Artist's Bio
NOBOT is a three-piece band from Minneapolis, Minnesota that formed in early 2007. The three members met while studying music in college. Their band is an attempt to expand the creative and technological limits of live music.
NOBOT is rock and roll being funneled through a tangled mess of electronics. The stage setup consists of guitar, bass, and 3 vocal mics all connected to a computer which is applying real-time effects including vocoded vocals. In addition, multiple MIDI keyboards and controllers are used for playing synthesizers and effects on the fly. The drums are primarily programmed with certain elements manipulated live which makes every performance different.
When writing music, NOBOT aims to be both catchy and noisy, often with a beat that demands the audience to move. Their influences are very broad and include everything from 60's pop to free jazz to math-metal. However, all of their music has a distinctive electronic backbone which pulls from a variety of modern artists and music trends.
