Boca and Arision have teamed up to produce a piece of Italian flavoured sunshine, featuring artists who have all appeared at the unique and intimate beachfront venue. This is a record with a true selection of modern funk soul and jazz from across the globe. Marco Di Marco get things started with a rework by Nicola Conte; warm afrofunk with soulful piano and percussion. The massive Colonel Red tune Blue Eye Blak. Colonel Red has guest produced the likes of Alex Attias, Bugz in the Attik and Domu. Taylor McFerrin's track Broken Vibes is beatbox turned soulful broken beat to a distinct American flavour. This guy ticks all the right boxes been one of the best track of Peterson’s Worlwide Winners this year. There are sounds galore from south America. The Big Bang track Sweet and Sour is remixed by 4Hero with soulful Brazilian beats and electro squeaks. Spirital South remix Azymuth's Roda Piao; tasty upbeat Brazilian broken beat, while Afronaught turns the knobs to Son Del Batey - Golpe Tuyo Calinda, just simply carnival crazy. Mark de Clive-Lowe's track Twilight (featuring Lady Alma) is warm electronic funk accompanied by husky and soulful vocals. BocaBarranca is a little gem situated on Italy's Adriatic coast. It's not a wild party town. It is however establishing itself as a place to check out for a weekend throughout the summer months. Anyone I know that has visited immediately falls for its charms. Over the past 5 years Franco Fusari, Simone Serritella & all have nurtured Boca as a labour of love, bringing some fantastic guest DJ's and live bands to it's sunny shore. Their secret has been the emphasis on quality music. Where most venues on this Italian coast are known for pumping out house to throbbing dance-floors, Boca has continued to go against the flow and bring their loyal and ever-growing regular crowd the finest selection of Jazz, Latin, Funk, Soul, Boogie and melodic Broken Beats from some of the best Dj's, Selectors and bands in these genres. Add to this amazing food, fine wine and sunshine...

There are few things more enjoyable for a working DJ to find than a gig that combines all the best elements of a great trip away. Boca All Stars, year on year, has got better and better for me. From the many great people i have come to know and love (not only Italians, but other punters from other countries and other DJs), to the beautiful surroundings, the amazing food and the super up for it crowd. Franco, Simone and all that contribute to Boca should be very proud that they have created a DJs dream come true - where one can play soulful music of any genre, bring their partner and friends, drink mojitos and eat fantastic Pizza - all on the beach!
