Artist's Bio
The band was formed in 1997 under the name of Neverwood by Attila Tδnczer (keyboards) and Viktor Erdυs (bass) from the present line-up but the first important results are from July of 1999.
After the continuos changes, the line-up was stabilized in 2000 when Johnny Debreczi (vocals/guitars), Tamαs Rαbel (drums) and Ferenc Farkas (guitars) joined and the band had many successful gigs.
The first demo CD entitled "Ϊjjαszόletιs" ("Immortality") was finished in February of 2001 with three songs. Comparing with the present style the music on this demo is closer to the hard rock and the structures of the songs are simplier but the guys already tried to reach the best sound and the highest quality of the lay-out.
In May of 2001 they had to part with Johnny. In the next term of time Viktor did the vocals. The band had many concerts again accompanied by such groups as Stainless Steel and Αrnyak and they joined Dying Wish and Da Capo at their Perpetuum Morbide Tour in the Spring of 2002.
After more than one year of constant searching the guys met Balαzs "Balu" Koncz who proved that he is the best replacement for the vocals. He joined the band in August of 2002.
In the same year the second demo was recorded with one song called "Jeanne D'Arc (Never Surrender)", which received very good critics by the media.
>From December of 2002 many gigs were played again in different parts of Hungary. They joined the Terra Tourin'Cognita of the band Age Of Nemesis with Perfect Symmetry and Behinia in the Spring of 2003.
In April of 2004 the band organised a new festival called Taste of Metal. Three other bands played with them: Age Of Nemesis, Haelo and Wendigo. The band had the chance to play before Devon Graves (Dead Soul Tribe, ex-Psychotic Waltz), and they also played on the Miskolc University Days open-air festival (other performers: Hooligans, Ganxta Zolee ιs a Kartell, etc.) and on the Summerground Festival in August.
At the end of June the first album called "Mind Games" was finished. It was recorded in the Studio Bakery - the sound is extraordinary: crystal clear, raw and dynamic. The album includes 11 songs and an intro with Zoltαn Kiss, the frontman of Nemesis and Iron Majdnem as a guest vocalist in two songs. The booklet is made by the famous designer Gyula Havancsαk who painted the cover of such bands' albums as Annihilator, Grave Digger and Therion.
In December the name was changed to EVERWOOD and the band signed a record contract with the greek Burning Star Records. At the same time Tamαs was out of the band. The album was released in digipack format at 28. 02. 2005.
In February of 2005 the R.I.P. Dime! night was exceedingly organised by Balu in the Wigwam Rock Club in Budapest. During the event 36 famous musicians expressed their honours for the tragically died guitar hero, Dimebag Darrel in front of thousands of fans.
In April the Taste Of Metal Festival was arranged again in the biggest open-air hall of Budapest called Zφld Pardon together with Wackor and Insane. Everwood was the headliner and the event was a huge success. The band also performed at the Dream Theater afterparty in June.
After many unsuccessful tryings behind the drumkit they finally managed to find the perfect replacement: Tamαs "Toi" Szabσ joined in July.
The musical style of the band can be defined as keyboard-centric melodic heavy metal combined with low-tuned guitars and progressive elements
